Dr. Harrison Amadasun is a consultant with a doctorate in Strategic Leadership and a record of public service in East Hartford, where he served two terms as Selectman and Vice Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Now a member of South Windsor’s Economic Development Commission, Harrison is committed to strengthening education, supporting seniors, and keeping taxes manageable. He believes in transparent, collaborative leadership that puts people first and is running for Town Council to ensure South Windsor families have the resources and opportunities they deserve.

Maura Fitzgerald (Incumbent)
Maura Fitzgerald, a lifelong South Windsor resident and graduate of its public schools, currently serves on the Town Council and is the Chief Marketing Officer at the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Steven King, Jr. has served South Windsor as Town Councilor, Deputy Mayor, and Minority Leader, becoming the town’s first elected Black council member in 2021. A resident for nearly a decade, Steven brings leadership experience as Executive Director for the Eastern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha, managing operations across 11 states and abroad. Locally, he has coached youth sports, performed as a musician at community events, and served on town commissions. Steven is committed to lowering residential taxes by attracting new business, ensuring equitable resources for schools, and building a safe, sustainable, and inclusive future for all South Windsor families.

Andy Paterna has lived in South Windsor for 50 years with his wife, Joan, raising two children who attended local schools. A retired professor with a Ph.D. from UConn, Andy served as Town Council member, Deputy Mayor, and Mayor, where he worked to preserve farmland, expand parkland, support seniors, and bring solar power to schools and town buildings. He remains active in community groups like the Farmers Market, Food Alliance, and Hunger Action Team, and is committed to keeping South Windsor strong for families, seniors, and future generations.

With extensive experience managing education and recreation budgets during times of growth, Craig is running for Town Council to ensure South Windsor remains affordable, welcoming, and well-prepared to meet the needs of students, families, and seniors alike.

Stephen Armstrong has spent his career in education as a teacher, department chair, district administrator, and state education official, and has also taught at Central Connecticut State University. Mitchell Marks, a lifelong South Windsor resident and graduate of the South Windsor High School Class of 2022, is a senior at UConn studying Political Science with minors in History and Judaic Studies. Elected as the youngest person in town history to the South Windsor Board of Education, he brings a unique perspective on the needs of students while giving back to the schools and educators who shaped him. On the Board, Mitchell has focused on protecting educational excellence, supporting teachers, and planning for the district’s growth. He also serves as Secretary of the Parks and Recreation Commission and as a member of the Human Relations Commission. Mitchell is running for re-election to ensure South Windsor schools remain strong, inclusive, and prepared for the future.
